I’ll be participating in the 2018 Lahey Health 5K Cancer Walk & Run on June 23!
As many of you know, Lahey literally saved my life in 2017 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Had they not been so diligent in keeping after me with mammograms every six months after an initial scare over Christmas 2015/2016, I'm not sure I would have been so lucky in catching the cancer so early. My tumor was not one you could feel on your own. Throughout my course of treatment I was continually impressed with my level of care. They called and kept after me to go to my appointments, get the tests done, see the specialists, do the surgeries, get the radiation and even when treatment came to an end, they had an appointment to go over everything with me to let me know they knew the journey wasn't over and that they would continue to be there for me when new questions came up. I am grateful for them every day.
Since my hospital treatments ended, I have had no evidense of disease (NED). I continue to take medicine that will hopefully prevent its' return. Although I am not a fan of the side effects of this medicine, I am committed to doing everything it takes to never have to say "I have breast cancer" again. My team of oncologists continue to monitor my treatment and provide a tremendous level of care.
So now's my chance to again try and help THEM. With your help, this event will raise $500,000 to support cancer services across Lahey Health. Proceeds from this event have a tremendous effect on patient care, helping purchase new equipment for treatment, offering cancer support groups and providing comforting spaces for patients and their families.
Will you help me reach my personal goal by joining my team or making a donation today? Registering and donating through this website is simple, fast and secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you for your support!
